Conflict photographer Samantha Miller and US Army Sergeant Lee Turner struggle to reconcile their painful past as they fight to save lives, each in their own way.

 

Routine is the story of a photographer who questions the validity of war and a soldier who finds validation in what he sees as “doing the right thing”. Their personal conflict, brought to the fore by a terminal illness, is set against the backdrop of the multitude of suffering in war-torn northern Iraq.

 

Originally developed in 2017 as a live action short for JK Films, this story is now being produced as an animatic proof of concept. The script is currently being expanded into feature length.
